There are plenty of things to do in Siem Reap aside from Angkor Wat (check out our eco guide for things to do in Siem Reap), and hence it makes sense to stay there a few days, maybe even a week. Below is our curated list of the best eco-friendly hotels in Siem Reap. As usual we thoroughly researched and checked out all the hotels that claim to be sustainable, filtering through the ones that we were not sure about.
But before you go, read up on Cambodia facts and culture and proper etiquette. And if you don’t feel like planning the trip, check out these amazing, sustainable organised tours of Cambodia.
Anjali is a 4* hotel with chic, minimalistic decor, located a little bit outside of downtown Siem Reap.
The hotel offers a peaceful and beautiful place to relax after the crowds of Angkor Wat. The interior design of the hotel has a touch of Cambodian influence, in a lush setting with tropical trees.
You can expect terraces or balconies in each room, bathrooms with rain showers, a salt water swimming pool, a wine cellar, a lounge to enjoy innovative cocktails, a spa, cooking classes, a farm, a golf course, bicycles for cycling around, and more. They also offer complimentary transport to and from the airport.
Anjali is a boutique hotel with only 29 rooms. They put a lot of effort on sustainability and supporting the local community.

Treeline Urban Resort is a 4* boutique hotel overlooking the Siem Reap River, and a few blocks away from the popular Pub Street. However if partying with backpackers surrounded by loud music is not your thing (we personally did not like it and found an alternative way to enjoy a night out in Siem Reap), that’s ok, the hotel shelters you from all of that.
This elegant hotel has two on-site restaurants, a coffee shop, an art gallery with a permanent exhibition, a rooftop bar, a spa, and an infinity pool overlooking tropical trees. The rooms are minimalistic and chic, with a natural vibe. It feels like you’re staying in a spa.

Just a few minutes walk from the Made in Cambodia market, Shinta Mani Angkor is a gorgeous, luxurious option for your stay in Siem Reap.
At Shinta Mani Angkor, you can enjoy their luxury spa treatments with optional outdoor massages, and a gym. They also have 2 restaurants, an outdoor pool with a pool bar, and another bar. The hotel offers cooking classes where you can learn to make Khmer meals.
You stay at the boutique hotel, but you can also choose to reside in the exclusive villas (Bensley Collection Pool Villas) with your own personal butler.

“Your own oasis” is how this luxurious 5* hotel describes itself. Templation Hotel is an upscale hotel close to Siem Reap River, just minutes away from Angkor Wat.
You have the option of villas and suites surrounded by tropical gardens, some with private pools or plunge pools. There’s even a glamping option for a more “outdoorsy, adventurous” stay but with all the comfort and luxuries of a hotel.
There’s also a lounge and bar area, a main swimming pool designed like a big natural lake, a fitness gym, a meeting room, and a spa centre with traditional Khmer and other types of spa treatments, including endermologie (that reactives dormant cells).
There is a small library area where you can learn more about the Khmer civilization, and there’s a children’s corner for kid-friendly books. The Cambomania shop onsite sells locally-made items, plus other things you might need such as swimwear, clothes, and body care products.
The multiple private pools does raise the doubt of sustainability practices at Templation Hotel, however, there are the ways the hotel is sustainable:

A boutique hotel with only 28 rooms, the Navutu Dreams Resort is a 4* hotel with a modern and chic design, not far from the Angkor Wat temples.
The family-friendly Navutu Dreams Resort has a minimalistic design with a mediterranean style (the owners are Italian), but with a touch of Cambodian culture. There are three outdoor pools surrounded by tropical trees, gardens, and tropical flowers, including bougainvillaea and frangipani flowers.
Each room has space and privacy from other rooms, and you can do yoga and other types of mental detox activities at the resort. You can also do cooking classes where you start by picking out the ingredients from an organic farm.
The eco-chic resort also provides a glimpse into Cambodian performance arts with Apsara Dance performances on some evenings.
